Sao Paulo

Sao Paulo is the largest city in Brazil and one of the most populous in the world, being considered the economic and cultural engine of the country.
Located in the southeast of Brazil, about 70 kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean, the city stretches over green hills, in an area with a humid subtropical climate, characterized by hot and rainy summers and mild and drier winters. Founded in 1554 by Jesuit missionaries with the aim of converting the indigenous population, Sao Paulo remained a small settlement for a long time, until in the 19th century the coffee culture brought it prosperity and a wave of European immigrants, especially Italians, Portuguese and Spanish, who left a strong mark on its identity.
Today, the metropolis is a fascinating mix of modernity and tradition, with over 20 million inhabitants in the metropolitan area, being recognized for its cultural, gastronomic and artistic diversity. Visitors can discover the iconic Avenida Paulista, the heart of economic and cultural life, the vast green oasis of Parque Ibirapuera with its museums, the impressive Metropolitan Cathedral or the Mercado Municipal, where the aromas and colors of local products seduce the senses.
